Literally why in their right mind would Russia stop now? The West has broken their agreements 100% of the time and used any time-out to re-arm Ukraine. Of course Ukraine will agree to a time-out to get re-armed. Well duh. 🙄 Now fully anticipate the MSM to freak out when Russia (hopefully) denies the ceasefire but who even cares about the MSM at this point. Wars are not won by PR gimmicks.

While it’s not up to me to decide what Russia should or should not decide, I don’t see how it would be in their interest to agree to a cease-fire without clear concessions in return. If experts like Macgregor are accurate, what do they have to lose by continuing the SMO?

Our western elites and media will call them bad names?

They’ll send more weapons to Ukraine?

What has changed to motivate the Russians to agree to a cease-fire?

Judging from the reported Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow today just before Rubio and Yarmak meeting..I don’t think Russia will agree .. just saying…

Why give Ukraine breathing room to rest and rearm? Remember the Minsk agreement? They screwed Russia and bragged about it. I hope Russia knows better this time.

The war is between US and Russia, using Ukraine as a proxy. So how can anyone take seriously the US "mediating". Absolutely ridiculous.

The green goblin in Kiev: "Russia should stop fighting us for 30 days so we have some time to refill our stocks of ammunition, drones and missiles and kidnap a few thousand more clueless men to send to the frontline to die."

If Putin takes Trump's word on it let's all pitch in and get Putin a T-shirt that says "I Agreed to A Cease-Fire and All I Got Was This Stupid Shirt."

Russia won't and should not agree until permanent peace agreed to, as others said russia don't need to sign a ceasefire deal. They are smart enough to know that this is a f@$k%n western con. I look forward to Russia winning the war if no peace deal reached. Thanks Patrick

Donut Thump is trying to railroad Putin into a US/EU agreement. Very poor bullyboy negotiating tactics. Thump is bloviating yet cannot think out of the box. The US is basically trying to 'boss' Russia into their 'solution'.

One thing Putin and Trump seem to share is their unpredictability. Though to me Putin's is far more thoughtful, intelligent, even "elegant" by comparison. Here though, Putin has to really be connected to the will/wishes of his own people, based on the experiences of Russians (not Ukrainians) over the last 3 (or 11 years). On that "people" level, many (I include myself) feel he sold out the people in Syria and, by extension, people of all countries in the Middle East not aligned with Israel. He's cooperating with Israel/the new Syrian "regime" right now from what I gather. But I don't believe he will "sell out" the Russian people. So based on the current "offer," I say "no." As for the (predictable) derision he'd get from Pravda, excuse me, Western media, if anything, that's now become a badge of honor.

It is nearly 100% certain that Ukraine will use any pause in the war to rearm and rebuild its forces. Anyway, Russia cannot stop before Kursk is fully liberated. Could Putin justify all sacrifices and let Ukrainian soldiers linger in Kursk? I doubt it. Another question is: how long will the ceasefire last before Russia decides it has been duped again? One year? Ten years? The war in Korea technically never ender. Would Russia really accept a frozen conflict? It may be easier to keep fighting that to restart everything a decade from now.

They won't agree immediately. They will continue to wage drone warfare. They're very good at it.

If I was Putin. I would tell Ukraine to remove all it's troops from Kursk before I agree to the one month ceasefire. I guess the best thing to do is just reject the ceasefire. What will Trump do?

Russians play chess while everyone else plays checkers. They know if they don't agree on some level that the propaganda machine of the West will go into high gear and likely gain traction w a clueless American public. I think that they will demand strict fair terms on a timeline that had better well be respected or they will end the ceasefire while maintaining the high ground.

Is Russia CURRENTLY in a position to safely keep ALL the territory in the Donbass which it has formally annexed to be part of the Russian Federation?

If not, I'd keep fighting because if I am Putin, I know a coup against me is very likely (if not an outright certainty).
